Dechra Pharmaceuticals Limited today announces the appointment of Jesper Nordengaard as its CEO and retirement of Ian Page effective June 10, 2024

Jesper Nordengaard will join Dechra from Colgate-Palmolive where he is currently President, North America. Jesper previously was President and CEO of Hill’s Pet Nutrition, an iconic global pet food brand anchored in science and recommendation.

He brings successful experiences in animal health and consumer brands globally, with a focus on innovation and commercial execution.

Jesper said "I am honored to be given the opportunity and responsibility to lead Dechra into its next chapter. Dechra has an enviable position in a large, resilient and growing animal health market and a clear vision and purpose, making this an exciting time for the business."

After a remarkable career spanning 42 years in the Animal Health industry, Ian Page is retiring. Reflecting on his tenure, Ian Page remarked, “It has been a privilege to lead the business as CEO over the last 23 years. My time in the industry has been exciting, hard work and challenging. More than anything else, it has been the people that I have worked with that has made it so rewarding and enjoyable.”

Expressing confidence in Dechra's continued success, Ian added, “I would like to thank the veterinary community for all their support. Dechra remains well-positioned for further growth and will continue to prosper. I look forward to watching the business flourish in the years ahead, and I wish Jesper every success in his new role.”

• Jesper is currently President, North America of Colgate-Palmolive where he is responsible for a portfolio of iconic brands and consumer products
• From 2017-2022 he worked with Hill’s Pet Nutrition latterly as President, overseeing a period of extraordinary growth and delivering a significant digital transformation
• Jesper joined Colgate’s Nordic Group in 1997 as an assistant brand manager and has worked in regional and global marketing and innovation roles before his role at Hill’s Pet Nutrition
• He holds a diploma in business administration from Copenhagen Business School
